Home-made Tau Fu Fah

with V-Soy Low Sugar

A classic healthy dessert loved by the young and old.

Makes 10 servings

Ingredients

Tau Fu Fah:

  • 2L V-Soy Low Sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 12.5g agar agar powder

Ginger Syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 pieces gula melaka
  • 1 inch ginger (smashed)
  • 2 pieces pandan leaves

Instructions

Tau Fu Fah:

  1. In a medium-sized pot, warm up soy milk on medium heat.
  2. In another pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add agar-agar powder, stirring until dissolved.
  3. Pour warm soy milk into agar-agar mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Turn off heat when mixture comes to a boil. Strain mixture into a large pot with lid.
  5. Wrap the lid with a clean kitchen towel and place onto pot. Let it cool down.
  6. When it has cooled a little, transfer to the refrigerator and allow to set for about 2 hours.

Ginger Syrup:

  1. Cook gula melaka in 1 cup of water, pandan leaves, and ginger over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  2. Turn off heat. Remove ginger and pandan leaves.

To serve, use a flat spatula to gently cut thin slices of tau foo fah into a small bowl and pour some ginger syrup on top.
